How to enter APN settings
Open Access Point Names
Go to
Settings → Network & Internet → Mobile network → Access Point Names. On some phones it's underSettings → Connections → Mobile networks.Add a new APN
Tap + (or the menu → New APN) and set APN to
data.lycamobile.ie. Fill any other non-blank values from the table above and leave the rest as default.Save and select it
Save from the menu, then select the new Lycamobile Ireland APN and toggle Airplane Mode on for ten seconds so the change takes effect.
Open the APN screen
Tap
Settings → Mobile Service → Mobile Data Network. On some iPhones the menu is called Mobile Data. If you don't see this option, Lycamobile Ireland locks APN editing, so contact them or install a carrier profile.Enter the APN
Under Mobile Data, set APN to
data.lycamobile.ie. Leave Username and Password blank unless the table above lists them.Save and restart data
Go back to apply the change, then toggle Airplane Mode on for ten seconds so the iPhone re-registers with Lycamobile Ireland.
Common issues
A data bundle is active but nothing loads. Wrong APN details are the usual cause. Check all three values letter by letter: data.lycamobile.ie, lmie, plus.
Settings came from a UK guide. UK Lycamobile values use the username lmpl. Replace it with lmie.
Nothing works after an update. A software update can clear the APN. Enter the values again and restart.

Is the username lmie or lmpl?
lmie in Ireland. lmpl is the username Lycamobile uses in the UK, and it won't work on an Irish SIM.
Does Lycamobile Ireland have MMS settings?
Lycamobile Ireland has no MMSC or MMS proxy to enter. Photos sent over WhatsApp or iMessage use ordinary data and work with the APN above. The MMSC on lyca.mmsmvno.com that some sites list is for Lycamobile in other countries.
Do I need to type the APN at all?
Usually not. Most phones receive the settings automatically and you only need to save them when prompted. Type them by hand if data doesn't start.
Does Lycamobile Ireland support eSIM?
Yes. An eSIM line picks up its settings during activation.
Why won't my iPhone let me edit the APN?
Some carriers manage the iPhone APN through a hidden carrier profile, so the fields are locked or missing. That's normal. Resetting network settings re-pulls the profile and fixes most iPhone data problems without typing anything.
