APN settings belong to a carrier, not to a country, but carriers are easiest to find by where they operate. Each country page lists its national networks first, then the virtual operators that rent space on them, grouped by the network they run on. Every carrier links to a page with its APN, MMS and protocol values, plus the steps to enter them on iPhone and Android.

Most phones set the APN automatically when you insert a SIM. You only need these pages when mobile data or picture messages stop working, when you switch carriers, or when you use an unlocked phone bought somewhere else.

How country codes identify your network

Every mobile network is identified by two numbers. The mobile country code (MCC) is three digits assigned per country, such as 234 for the United Kingdom or 505 for Australia. The mobile network code (MNC) then picks out one operator inside that country. Some carriers ask you to enter both in the APN screen, which is why they appear in our settings tables and on each country page.

Roaming, local SIMs and travel eSIMs

Travelling doesn't change the APN on your home SIM. Your phone connects to a partner network abroad but still uses your home carrier's access point, so the fix for no data abroad is usually the data roaming switch, not the APN. A local SIM or a travel eSIM is different: it belongs to a carrier in the country you're visiting and needs that carrier's APN. Look it up under the destination country before you fly, since you may not have data to search once you land.

How we keep these pages current

Each carrier's settings come from its own published support pages wherever it publishes them, cross-checked against a list of network codes and reports from people on that network. Carriers change values without notice after mergers, rebrands and network migrations. If a setting here doesn't work for you, tell us and we'll re-check it.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do my APN settings change when I travel to another country?

Not if you keep your home SIM. When you roam, your phone keeps using your home carrier's APN, so you only need to turn on data roaming. If you buy a local SIM or a travel eSIM instead, use that carrier's APN, which you'll find under the country you're visiting.

Why does my country have more than one mobile country code?

Large markets were given extra codes as their networks grew. The United States uses several codes in the 310 to 316 range, and the United Kingdom uses 234 and 235. Your phone reads the code from the network, so you never need to enter it for data to work.

Is the APN different for an eSIM?

The values are the same as for a physical SIM from the same carrier. An eSIM usually installs its APN along with the profile. If data doesn't work after activation, enter the carrier's APN in the same settings screen you would use for a physical SIM.

My country or carrier isn't listed. What should I do?

Check your carrier's own support pages for its APN, or ask its customer support. You can also tell us through the contact page. Requests for missing countries and carriers decide what we add next.
