More about Sky Mobile Ireland
Sky first announced an Irish mobile service in March 2022, on a long-term wholesale deal with Vodafone, and aimed to launch in 2023. It went on sale in September 2024, with a price-for-life plan of €15 a month for unlimited calls, texts and 5G data.
Sky runs its own mobile core network on top of Vodafone's masts. That's why Sky SIMs carry their own network code, 272 25, rather than Vodafone's 272 01, and why the APN is Sky's own, mobile.sky. Some Pixel phones stayed on 4G because they didn't yet recognise 272 25 as a 5G network.
Sky supports eSIM on iPhone, VoLTE and Wi-Fi Calling. Sky Mobile in the UK is a separate service on a different network, with UK network codes.
