Background
More about Public Mobile
Public Mobile opened its first stores in Toronto and Montreal on March 18, 2010, and switched on its own CDMA network in Toronto on May 26, 2010. Telus took it over on October 23, 2013, shut the CDMA network on August 8, 2014, and moved its customers onto the Telus network. On September 4, 2014, it became a self-serve brand with no stores. Its head office is in Toronto.
Public Mobile runs on Telus but has its own APN, sp.mb.com, and its own MMS address, http://aliasredirect.net/proxy/mb/mmsc, on Telus's MMS proxy, mmscproxy.mobility.ca, port 8799.
