How to enter APN settings
Open Access Point Names
Go to
Settings → Network & Internet → Mobile network → Access Point Names. On some phones it's underSettings → Connections → Mobile networks.Add a new APN
Tap + (or the menu → New APN) and set APN to
truphone.com. Fill any other non-blank values from the table above and leave the rest as default.Save and select it
Save from the menu, then select the new Lidl Connect Ireland APN and toggle Airplane Mode on for ten seconds so the change takes effect.
Open the APN screen
Tap
Settings → Mobile Service → Mobile Data Network. On some iPhones the menu is called Mobile Data. If you don't see this option, Lidl Connect Ireland locks APN editing, so contact them or install a carrier profile.Enter the APN
Under Mobile Data, set APN to
truphone.com. Leave Username and Password blank unless the table above lists them.Save and restart data
Go back to apply the change, then toggle Airplane Mode on for ten seconds so the iPhone re-registers with Lidl Connect Ireland.
Common issues
No data right after activation. A new SIM or eSIM can take up to 24 hours to connect after you install and activate it. Restart the phone once that window has passed before changing settings.
An R next to the signal bars and no data. Turn on Data Roaming. Some phones treat the Lidl Connect SIM as roaming in Ireland and block data until it's on.
Settings from a German Lidl Connect guide. The German service uses web.vodafone.de. That won't work on an Irish SIM. Use truphone.com.
Frequently asked questions
Why is the APN truphone.com and not a Lidl address?
Lidl Connect SIMs come from 1GLOBAL, the company that used to be called Truphone, and truphone.com is the APN for its SIMs. Lidl hasn't published an APN of its own. If Lidl's customer care gives you different settings, use theirs.
My phone shows R at home. Is it roaming?
Some phones flag Lidl Connect as roaming in Ireland, and data may only start once Data Roaming is on. You're still on eir's network in Ireland. Check Lidl's roaming terms in My Lidl Connect, in the Lidl Plus app, before relying on roaming data abroad.
My eSIM installed with a KPN APN. What do I change?
Some Lidl Connect eSIMs have installed with the APN "kpn mobiel internet". Change it to truphone.com to get data. Edit the APN to truphone.com and leave everything else blank.
What MCC and MNC should I enter?
Leave whatever the phone fills in. Lidl doesn't publish the SIM's network codes, and on Android an APN with the wrong MCC or MNC won't appear in the list.
Are there MMS settings for Lidl Connect Ireland?
Neither Lidl nor 1GLOBAL publishes MMS values for the Irish service. Photos sent over WhatsApp or iMessage use ordinary data and work with truphone.com.
