How to enter APN settings
Open Access Point Names
Go to
Settings → Network & Internet → Mobile network → Access Point Names. On some phones it's underSettings → Connections → Mobile networks.Add a new APN
Tap + (or the menu → New APN) and set APN to
data.myeirmobile.ie. Fill any other non-blank values from the table above and leave the rest as default.Save and select it
Save from the menu, then select the new eir APN and toggle Airplane Mode on for ten seconds so the change takes effect.
Open the APN screen
Tap
Settings → Mobile Service → Mobile Data Network. On some iPhones the menu is called Mobile Data. If you don't see this option, eir locks APN editing, so contact them or install a carrier profile.Enter the APN
Under Mobile Data, set APN to
data.myeirmobile.ie. Leave Username and Password blank unless the table above lists them.Save and restart data
Go back to apply the change, then toggle Airplane Mode on for ten seconds so the iPhone re-registers with eir.
Common issues
An old Meteor profile is selected. If your APN list shows data.mymeteor.ie or wap.mymeteor.ie, add data.myeirmobile.ie and select it. eir sets the type to default,supl, or ticks Internet where the phone shows checkboxes, and the protocol to IPv4.
Group texts fail. eir's support pages note that Samsung and other Android phones turn a text into MMS when it goes to several people, runs long or carries a picture. Fix the MMS APN, or switch off group messaging as MMS in the messaging app's settings.
Picture messages fail on Wi-Fi. MMS goes over mobile data, not Wi-Fi. Keep mobile data on when you send one.

Is the eir APN data.myeirmobile.ie or data.mymeteor.ie?
Use data.myeirmobile.ie. It's the APN eir uses today. data.mymeteor.ie is the name from the Meteor years, and it still appears in many phones' APN lists.
What are eir's MMS settings?
eir's help pages don't list MMS values. eir's MMSC is http://mms.mymeteor.ie, with the MMS proxy 10.85.85.85 on port 8799. Current listings name the MMS APN mms.myeirmobile.ie and older ones mms.mymeteor.ie. If picture messages still fail, call eir on 1901.
Does GoMo use the same APN as eir?
Yes. GoMo runs on eir's network and uses the same data APN, data.myeirmobile.ie.
Does eir support eSIM?
Yes. eir supports eSIM on iPhone. An eSIM line picks up its settings during activation.
Why won't my iPhone let me edit the APN?
Some carriers manage the iPhone APN through a hidden carrier profile, so the fields are locked or missing. That's normal. Resetting network settings re-pulls the profile and fixes most iPhone data problems without typing anything.
