How to enter APN settings
Open Access Point Names
Go to
Settings → Network & Internet → Mobile network → Access Point Names. On some phones it's underSettings → Connections → Mobile networks.Add a new APN
Tap + (or the menu → New APN) and set APN to
isp.clearmobile.ie. Fill any other non-blank values from the table above and leave the rest as default.Save and select it
Save from the menu, then select the new Clear Mobile APN and toggle Airplane Mode on for ten seconds so the change takes effect.
Open the APN screen
Tap
Settings → Mobile Service → Mobile Data Network. On some iPhones the menu is called Mobile Data. If you don't see this option, Clear Mobile locks APN editing, so contact them or install a carrier profile.Enter the APN
Under Mobile Data, set APN to
isp.clearmobile.ie. Leave Username and Password blank unless the table above lists them.Save and restart data
Go back to apply the change, then toggle Airplane Mode on for ten seconds so the iPhone re-registers with Clear Mobile.
Common issues
Data works but picture messages don't. On Android, MMS needs the type to include mms on the isp.clearmobile.ie entry, plus the MMSC and proxy. Clear sets the type to default, which covers data only.
No data abroad. Data may not work abroad unless the APN is isp.clearmobile.ie. Check it, then switch Data Roaming on.
Hotspot won't share data on iPhone. Enter isp.clearmobile.ie in the Personal Hotspot APN field too, not just Mobile Data.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use Vodafone's APN on a Clear Mobile SIM?
No. Clear runs on Vodafone's network, but its SIMs need isp.clearmobile.ie. live.vodafone.com is for Vodafone's own SIMs.
What are Clear Mobile's MMS settings?
MMS uses the same APN, isp.clearmobile.ie. Clear uses the MMSC http://85.205.200.172/mms and the MMS proxy 10.24.59.200 on port 80, with a maximum message size of 307200.
PAP or CHAP?
Clear supports both. Start with PAP. If data won't connect, switch to CHAP and restart.
Does Clear Mobile support eSIM?
No. Clear Mobile is sold as a physical SIM only.
Why won't my iPhone let me edit the APN?
Some carriers manage the iPhone APN through a hidden carrier profile, so the fields are locked or missing. That's normal. Resetting network settings re-pulls the profile and fixes most iPhone data problems without typing anything.
