How to enter APN settings
Open Access Point Names
Go to
Settings → Network & Internet → Mobile network → Access Point Names. On some phones it's underSettings → Connections → Mobile networks.Add a new APN
Tap + (or the menu → New APN) and set APN to
TRACFONE-WFM. Fill any other non-blank values from the table above and leave the rest as default.Save and select it
Save from the menu, then select the new TracFone APN and toggle Airplane Mode on for ten seconds so the change takes effect.
Open the APN screen
Tap
Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data Network. If you don't see this option, TracFone locks APN editing, so contact them or install a carrier profile.Enter the APN
Under Cellular Data, set APN to
TRACFONE-WFM. Leave Username and Password blank unless the table above lists them.Save and restart data
Go back to apply the change, then toggle Airplane Mode on for ten seconds so the iPhone re-registers with TracFone.
Common issues
You don't know which network your SIM is on. Text APN to 611611, or enter your number at tracfone.com/apn. TracFone replies with the settings for your SIM.
TRACFONE-WFM doesn't connect. TRACFONE-WFM is for SIMs on T-Mobile. TracFone SIMs on AT&T use reseller, with AT&T's MMS server, http://mmsc.mobile.att.net, and proxy, proxy.mobile.att.net on port 80.
A text to 611611 costs money. 611611 is free on TracFone smartphones. Standard text rates may apply on other phones.

Which TracFone APN do I need?
It depends on the network your SIM uses. Text APN to 611611, or enter your number at tracfone.com/apn, for the settings that match. SIMs on T-Mobile use TRACFONE-WFM, with the MMSC http://wirelessfour.mmsmvno.com/mms/wapenc. SIMs on AT&T use reseller.
Do I need to enter TracFone APN settings by hand?
Usually not. TracFone sells SIMs for Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile, and most phones pull the settings automatically. You enter them manually when data or MMS stops working, often after a SIM swap, a factory reset, or moving the SIM into an unlocked phone.
How do I know it worked?
Turn off Wi-Fi and open any website. If it loads, data is working. For MMS, send a photo to a friend and confirm it goes through. A quick restart helps if either doesn't start right away.
Does TracFone support eSIM?
Not currently. TracFone uses physical SIMs, so you'll configure the APN on the SIM if automatic setup doesn't take.
Why won't my iPhone let me edit the APN?
Many carriers manage the iPhone APN through a hidden configuration profile, so the fields are locked or missing. That's normal. Resetting network settings re-pulls the profile and fixes most iPhone issues without manual entry.
These settings didn't fix it. What now?
Restart the phone first. If data still won't connect, reset network settings and let the carrier re-provision. If only MMS fails, re-check the MMSC and make sure mobile data is on. APN settings can't fix a deactivated line, an unpaid balance, or a locked phone.
