More about Cricket Wireless
Cricket started in 1999 as the network of Leap Wireless International, and its first market was Chattanooga, Tennessee. AT&T bought Leap in March 2014 and folded its own prepaid brand, Aio Wireless, into Cricket the same year. Cricket's old CDMA network was shut down in stages between March and September 2015, and its customers moved to AT&T. Cricket's head office is in Atlanta, Georgia, and it had about 13 million subscribers in 2022.
That history still shows in the settings. Cricket runs on AT&T, but it uses the APN endo and the network code 310 150, not the 310 410 that AT&T's own SIMs carry. Picture messages go through AT&T's MMS server, mmsc.mobile.att.net, though Aio's old server, mmsc.aiowireless.net, still turns up in some settings.
