Smarty launched on 31 August 2017 as a Three brand, sold SIM-only and online only. It runs on Three's network and has been part of VodafoneThree since the merger completed in 2025.
Smarty has its own data APN, mob.asm.net, but uses Three's MMS settings, with the proxy hostname mms.three.co.uk on port 8799.
