Virgin Plus launched on March 1, 2005, as Virgin Mobile Canada, a joint venture between Virgin Group and BCE, Bell's parent. Bell took sole ownership on July 1, 2009, and the brand became Virgin Plus on July 19, 2021. Its head office is in Toronto.
Virgin Plus runs on Bell and uses Bell's APN, pda.bell.ca, and Bell's MMS server. The same APN works on Android tablets and iPads.
