How to enter APN settings
Open Access Point Names
Go to
Settings → Network & Internet → Mobile network → Access Point Names. On some phones it's underSettings → Connections → Mobile networks.Add a new APN
Tap + (or the menu → New APN) and set APN to
tfdata. Fill any other non-blank values from the table above and leave the rest as default.Save and select it
Save from the menu, then select the new Straight Talk APN and toggle Airplane Mode on for ten seconds so the change takes effect.
Open the APN screen
Tap
Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data Network. If you don't see this option, Straight Talk locks APN editing, so contact them or install a carrier profile.Enter the APN
Under Cellular Data, set APN to
tfdata. Leave Username and Password blank unless the table above lists them.Save and restart data
Go back to apply the change, then toggle Airplane Mode on for ten seconds so the iPhone re-registers with Straight Talk.
Common issues
You don't know which network your SIM is on. Text APN to 611611 from the phone. Straight Talk replies with the settings for your SIM, and a phone you brought may update on its own.
A Verizon SIM won't connect with tfdata. tfdata is for SIMs on AT&T. Straight Talk SIMs on Verizon use TRACFONE.VZWENTP.
Picture messages fail on an AT&T SIM. Straight Talk's AT&T SIMs use TracFone's MMS server, http://mms-tf.net, through the proxy mms3.tracfone.com on port 80, not AT&T's own.

Which Straight Talk APN do I need?
It depends on the network your SIM uses. Text APN to 611611 and Straight Talk sends the settings for your SIM. SIMs on AT&T use tfdata, with the MMSC http://mms-tf.net and proxy mms3.tracfone.com on port 80, and TRACFONE.VZWENTP for SIMs on Verizon.
Do I need to enter Straight Talk APN settings by hand?
Usually not. Straight Talk sells SIMs for Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile, and most phones pull the settings automatically. You enter them manually when data or MMS stops working, often after a SIM swap, a factory reset, or moving the SIM into an unlocked phone.
How do I know it worked?
Turn off Wi-Fi and open any website. If it loads, data is working. For MMS, send a photo to a friend and confirm it goes through. A quick restart helps if either doesn't start right away.
Does Straight Talk support eSIM?
Yes. Straight Talk supports eSIM. Activation usually sets up the data settings automatically, so you rarely touch the APN on an eSIM line.
Why won't my iPhone let me edit the APN?
Many carriers manage the iPhone APN through a hidden configuration profile, so the fields are locked or missing. That's normal. Resetting network settings re-pulls the profile and fixes most iPhone issues without manual entry.
These settings didn't fix it. What now?
Restart the phone first. If data still won't connect, reset network settings and let the carrier re-provision. If only MMS fails, re-check the MMSC and make sure mobile data is on. APN settings can't fix a deactivated line, an unpaid balance, or a locked phone.
