How to enter APN settings
Open Access Point Names
Go to
Settings → Network & Internet → Mobile network → Access Point Names. On some phones it's underSettings → Connections → Mobile networks.Add a new APN
Tap + (or the menu → New APN) and set APN to
giffgaff.com. Fill any other non-blank values from the table above and leave the rest as default.Save and select it
Save from the menu, then select the new Giffgaff APN and toggle Airplane Mode on for ten seconds so the change takes effect.
Open the APN screen
Tap
Settings → Mobile Service → Mobile Data Network. On some iPhones the menu is called Mobile Data. If you don't see this option, Giffgaff locks APN editing, so contact them or install a carrier profile.Enter the APN
Under Mobile Data, set APN to
giffgaff.com. Leave Username and Password blank unless the table above lists them.Save and restart data
Go back to apply the change, then toggle Airplane Mode on for ten seconds so the iPhone re-registers with Giffgaff.
Common issues
Data works but MMS won't send. Check the MMSC exactly and make sure mobile data is on. The MMS profile takes no proxy, port, username or password, so leave those blank.
No data on an unlocked or imported phone. Enter the APN giffgaff.com by hand with username gg and password p, then restart. Unlocked phones often skip the automatic setup.
Settings reset after an update. A software update occasionally clears the APN. Re-enter giffgaff.com and the MMS values.
