More about Giffgaff
giffgaff launched online-only on 25 November 2009 as a challenger brand of O2, founded by Gav Thompson, who had worked in marketing at O2's owner Telefónica. Its member forums opened first, in August 2009, and customers have always been able to help each other with settings there.
giffgaff runs on the O2 network and has been part of Virgin Media O2 since the 2021 merger, while still operating as its own brand. Its APN is giffgaff.com with the username giffgaff and no password, which differs from O2's own settings.
