How to enter APN settings
Tip
After saving, toggle Airplane Mode on and off for 10 seconds. This forces the phone to re-register with the network and pick up the new APN.
Troubleshooting
Common issues
No data on an unlocked or imported phone. Enter the APN by hand and restart. Imported phones often skip Docomo's automatic setup, so the APN field starts empty. Set the APN to spmode.ne.jp with no username or password.
Connects but keeps dropping. If the line is unstable on None or PAP, switch the authentication type to CHAP. A handful of devices need this on the spmode profile.
Settings reset after an update. A software update occasionally clears the APN. Re-enter spmode.ne.jp.
