Background
More about NTT Docomo
NTT Docomo is Japan's largest mobile network and the one with the widest coverage outside the big cities. Docomo's 3G network (FOMA) closed on 31 March 2026, so every line now runs on 4G or 5G and voice calls need a VoLTE-capable phone.
The online plan ahamo runs on this network, as do the MVNOs IIJmio and BIGLOBE, and mineo in part. Data uses the APN spmode.ne.jp, with no username or password.
