Auto-provisioning
Many phones on Utility Warehouse receive APN settings automatically when a SIM is inserted. Only enter these manually if your device shows no data connection or was purchased unlocked.
Setup guide

How to enter APN settings

  1. Open Access Point Names

Go to Settings → Network & Internet → Mobile network → Access Point Names. On some phones it's under Settings → Connections → Mobile networks.

  2. Add a new APN

Tap + (or the menu → New APN) and set APN to data.uk. Fill any other non-blank values from the table above and leave the rest as default.

  3. Save and select it

Save from the menu, then select the new Utility Warehouse APN and toggle Airplane Mode on for ten seconds so the change takes effect.

  1. Open the APN screen

Tap Settings → Mobile Service → Mobile Data Network. On some iPhones the menu is called Mobile Data. If you don't see this option, Utility Warehouse locks APN editing, so contact them or install a carrier profile.

  2. Enter the APN

Under Mobile Data, set APN to data.uk. Leave Username and Password blank unless the table above lists them.

  3. Save and restart data

Go back to apply the change, then toggle Airplane Mode on for ten seconds so the iPhone re-registers with Utility Warehouse.

Tip
After saving, toggle Airplane Mode on and off for 10 seconds. This forces the phone to re-register with the network and pick up the new APN.
Troubleshooting

Common issues

Data works but MMS won't send. Check the MMSC and the proxy 149.254.201.135 on port 8080 exactly, and make sure mobile data is on. UW keeps MMS in a separate profile named UW MMS, so a missing second profile is a common cause of MMS failing while browsing works.

No data on an unlocked or imported phone. Enter the APN data.uk by hand and restart. Unlocked phones often skip the automatic setup, so the field starts empty.

Settings reset after an update. A software update occasionally clears the APN. Re-enter data.uk and the MMS values.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to enter Utility Warehouse APN settings by hand?

Sometimes. Utility Warehouse runs on EE's network as an MVNO, and many phones pull the settings automatically, but a SIM swap, factory reset, or an unlocked phone often means entering the Utility Warehouse APN by hand.

How do I know it worked?

Turn off Wi-Fi and open any website. If it loads, data is working. For MMS, send a photo to a friend and confirm it goes through. A quick restart helps if either doesn't start right away.

Does Utility Warehouse support eSIM?

Check with Utility Warehouse before buying an eSIM plan. If you have one, activation usually sets up the data settings automatically.

Why won't my iPhone let me edit the APN?

Many carriers manage the iPhone APN through a hidden configuration profile, so the fields are locked or missing. That's normal. Resetting network settings re-pulls the profile and fixes most iPhone issues without manual entry.

These settings didn't fix it. What now?

Restart the phone first. If data still won't connect, reset network settings and let the carrier re-provision. If only MMS fails, re-check the MMSC and make sure mobile data is on. APN settings can't fix a deactivated line, an unpaid balance, or a locked phone.
