How to enter APN settings
Open Access Point Names
Go to
Settings → Network & Internet → Mobile network → Access Point Names. On some phones it's underSettings → Connections → Mobile networks.Add a new APN
Tap + (or the menu → New APN) and set APN to
internet.t-d1.de. Fill any other non-blank values from the table above and leave the rest as default.Save and select it
Save from the menu, then select the new Klarmobil APN and toggle Airplane Mode on for ten seconds so the change takes effect.
Open the APN screen
Tap
Settings → Mobile Service → Mobile Data Network. On some iPhones the menu is called Mobile Data. If you don't see this option, Klarmobil locks APN editing, so contact them or install a carrier profile.Enter the APN
Under Mobile Data, set APN to
internet.t-d1.de. Leave Username and Password blank unless the table above lists them.Save and restart data
Go back to apply the change, then toggle Airplane Mode on for ten seconds so the iPhone re-registers with Klarmobil.
Common issues
MMS no longer works. MMS has ended on all three German networks klarmobil uses: Vodafone in January 2023, and Telekom and O2 on 30 June 2026. No APN or MMSC setting brings it back. Use RCS or a messenger such as WhatsApp.
No data on an unlocked or imported phone. Check which network your SIM uses first, then enter its APN by hand and restart: internet.v6.telekom (or internet.telekom on older phones) for Telekom tariffs, web.vodafone.de for Vodafone tariffs, internet for O2 tariffs. Unlocked phones often skip the automatic setup, so the APN field starts empty.
Settings reset after an update. A software update occasionally clears the APN. Re-enter internet.t-d1.de.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to enter Klarmobil APN settings by hand?
Usually not. Klarmobil runs on Telekom or Vodafone depending on your tariff, and most phones pull the settings automatically. You enter them manually when mobile data stops working, often after a SIM swap, a factory reset, or moving the SIM into an unlocked phone.
How do I know which network my Klarmobil SIM uses?
Check your contract or your Klarmobil account; the tariff name usually states the network. Most current Klarmobil plans are on the Telekom network, so use the Telekom-based values here unless yours is a Vodafone tariff.
Does Klarmobil support eSIM?
Yes. Klarmobil supports eSIM on most current tariffs. Activation usually sets up the data settings automatically, so you rarely touch the APN on an eSIM line.
Why won't my iPhone let me edit the APN?
Many carriers manage the iPhone APN through a hidden configuration profile, so the fields are locked or missing. That's normal. Resetting network settings re-pulls the profile and fixes most iPhone issues without manual entry.
These settings didn't fix it. What now?
Restart the phone first. If data still won't connect, reset network settings and let the network re-provision. APN settings can't fix a deactivated line, an unpaid balance, or a locked phone. Picture messages (MMS) no longer work on German networks whatever the settings.
Does MMS still work in Germany?
No. Vodafone ended MMS in January 2023, and Telekom, O2 and 1&1 ended it on 30 June 2026. Use RCS in your Messages app or a messenger such as WhatsApp.
