How to enter APN settings
Tip
After saving, toggle Airplane Mode on and off for 10 seconds. This forces the phone to re-register with the network and pick up the new APN.
Troubleshooting
Common issues
Data works but MMS won't send. Optus uses a separate MMS APN (mms) with its own MMSC and proxy. If you only added the data profile, picture messages will fail while browsing works. Add the MMS values exactly and make sure mobile data is on.
No data on an unlocked or imported phone. Enter the APN by hand and restart. Unlocked phones often skip Optus's automatic setup, so the APN field starts empty.
Settings reset after an update. A software update occasionally clears the APN. Re-enter yesinternet and the MMS values.
